Dear Friends,
As we enter the 2012 election season, never has it been more critical to protect and expand our Democratic majority in the State Senate. Just this year, it was the Democratic majority that invested in our future by supporting students in K-12 education and in colleges and universities, ensured the passage of the landmark marriage equality act, and preserved critical social service programs such as Working Connections childcare and the Disability Lifeline.
We championed economic development in the aerospace industry and invested in jobs and environmental restoration across the state. Senate Republicans demonstrated different priorities in their budget, which cut education, higher education, women's reproductive health care and critical services for those in need. Simply put, 2012 is the most critical election for our Senate majority in years.
Our incumbents across the state will be running strong campaigns focusing on their years of accomplishment, and we’ve recruited stellar challengers in districts where we believe Democratic candidates are ready to unseat Republican incumbents. We are prepared to provide all the support necessary to our candidates in order to protect our majority.
But we cannot do so without your help. Please sign up for email updates from the SDCC, and visit the “Senate Candidates” section of our page to learn about both our incumbents as well as our challengers in 2012. Attend our events and most importantly, volunteer for our candidates!
By working together, we will remain in the majority. I thank you for your continued support.
With warm regards,
Senator Lisa Brown (D-Spokane)
